8 jan '22: I noticed that the alternative (paid) data source, is pretty far off with tides, waves and wind... Finding out how I can deal with this.

23 dec '21: No luck reaching out to Surfline, they are not interested. MSW API is out of capacity. Windguru has no API available and also doesn't seem to be interested. Investigating, scouting, and building from scratch with alternative data sources.

21 sep '21: Back from Holiday, in the meantime in I am the process of getting in touch with Surfline.
26 aug '21: Thanks for the messages and my apologies for the late update, I have been very busy with personal events, such as wedding of my brother and finally a holiday. Started exploring for a sustainable solution, and I'll get back to it asap. This app, hobby project, was build while I was in between jobs, as I'm back at full time job, progress will be slower. I'll do my best! Thanks a again!

6 Aug '21: There seems to be an issue with a new firmware of Garmin. Version 1.4.2 fixes the crash by removing the animation at the bottom of the watch face.

This watch face displays the current basic surf conditions from Surfline of your manually configured spot (it doesn't use GPS). The watch face downloads the data 4 times a day around 12am, 4am, 12pm and 6pm in the spot time zone.

* WARNING * Please note that the data shown has a delay of a few hours. Some location has negative tides, the watch face doesn't support that. Also, Surfline displays multiple swells, it could be that the watch picks the wrong top one.
To see the latest and more accurate conditions ALWAYS visit https://www.surfline.com. The data on the watch face is just an indication, the conditions can change rapidly throughout the day. Do not depend on the watch face for your mission-critical trips. Any use or reliance on tide information is at your own risk.

Don't solely rely on the watch face especially if the timing is crucial, have a close look at the data of Surfline, it seems that even on their website there could be a mismatch in time due to summer or wintertime. On some occasions, they display the hour one hour ahead or behind of the actual time, the data on the watch face may seem odd.

Q: How to setup a spot
A: At the moment it's not possible to get data of a spot. See message update on top.

Q: Why doesn't the data get displayed after I have set the spot ID
A: Wait 5 minutes. It's a limitation of the watch, it doesn't allow background download within 5 minutes after each other

Q: Why is my system metric unit change not reflected on the watch face?
A: The data needs to be refreshed, to force a refresh, change to spot to "demoSpotId", wait 5 minutes before de data gets refreshed and change it back to your local spot and wait for 5 minutes

Q: Why is the data not matching what I see on Surfline?
A: There could be a few reasons:
- The data is delayed by a few hours with Surfline
- Check the graph on Surfline, it is possible it does match there if you hover over the current hour on the graph

Q: Why is the spotId not working
A: Check that page if it is not a Regional Surf Forecast, it has to be a Spot forecast, also check if there are tide data available for the spot

Q: Why do I not see the red marker anymore and the conditions are blank?
A: The time of your watch is either before or after your current data. You can force a new download by changing the app settings.

Q: The data disappears after midnight?
A: Wait at least 5 to 7 minutes, new data set should be downloaded again.
